Benamor Golf Course
Benamor golf course was the first golf course to open east of the Algarve, and lies just outside the city of Tavira. This course offers a pleasant experience, to players of all standards. The golf course is undulating but not hilly. The views of the mountains to the North and the Atlantic Ocean to the South are stunning. The fairways of Bermuda Sahara and cool-season grasses provide good lies for wood and iron shots. Player's accuracy is particularly called upon by the architects' retention of as many of the old trees as feasible. These natural obstacles coupled with strategically placed bunkers and occasional water hazards make the course a worthwhile challenge. This golf course was selected as the Best Maintained Course in 2001 by the Portuguese Golf Federation.

Bunkers don´t have enough sand. It must be improved. The rest of the course is in excellent conditions

Nice course, quite short with some drivable par 4s and would suit higher handicap players nicely whilst still providing enough of a challenge for better players. Starter was a bit officious, unnecessary so, in my opinion. Some nice holes set amongst some very old olive trees.clubhouse is an old quaint wooden building.

Very slow due to 4 fourballs playing a texas scramble and refusing to let faster players behind through, ignoring course etiquette. Course representatives did nothing despite being aware of the situation. 4 and a half hours for a round here is unacceptable.

Some of the buggies were not in the best of condition. Dirty windscreens and some ripped seats.
Tecnicals
*Parkland - Parkland / Heathland
*Undulated - Most of the fairways very undulated
*Buggy Recommended - Prominent hills in some parts of the course
*Signature Hole - 13th
*Water hazards - Only the 13th hole has a rivulet crossing the fairway
*Tree Lined - A few trees come into play on a few holes
*Exposed - As the fairways are a bit open the wind will have to be taken in consideration
*Dogleg - Nothing at 90 degrees, but long fading dog legs
