Boavista Golf Course offers superb facilities in a uniquely sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere and is already attracting people from all over the world. The golf course design, by Howard Swan MSc, past president of The European Institute of Golf Course Architects, aimed to create a golf course as if it has always been there, preserving, integrating and harmonising with the area's natural terrain. With two distinctive sections, boavista golf course offers a variety of holes commencing with the welcoming first hole, bordered by beautiful sub-tropical landscaping leading to harmoniously designed properties. The signature hole on the outward nine is set against a glorious backdrop of the Atlantic ocean with exhilarating panoramic views extending from Praia da Luz round to with the hills at Monchique creating a spectacular backdrop.

Vandaag gespeeld op Boavista. Greens en fairway lagen er prima bij. Iedereen heeft wel eens een dag dat je wat minder speelt en dan ook steeds in de bunker terecht komt. Dat had ik vandaag. Deze bunkers zijn op Boavista dramatisch... De beste omschrijving is beton met een dun laagje stuifzand er over. Dus heel moeilijk om er uit te spelen en daardoor veel spelplezier weg.
-**- Played today at Boavista. Greens and fairway looked fine. Everyone has a day sometimes when you play a bit less and then also keep ending up in the bunker. I had that today. These bunkers are dramatic at Boavista.... The best description is concrete with a thin layer of drifting sand over it. So very difficult to play out of and therefore a lot of gameplay gone.

The welcome at the club was perfect and efficient. Pick up of cart excellent, 1st tee excellent. Added to a group who were very friendly. Due to the shear capacity of the course with 4 balls everywhere the round took 5 hours and 15 mins. MarShalls were located here and there, some active, some busy on their phones. Course showing signs of over use with worn out tees and marked greens.

Course in good condition. Driving range is inadequate, only for irons usable and mats in bad condition. Short game area very good. Good restaurant.

Great course and service, but I wish we'd been told about the driving range closure, as we travelled a long way to play and arrived really early hoping to warm up properly in advance.

Nice and a bit hilly course so a buggy recommended. Bunkers had stones in the sand and that’s was a bit disappointment. For the rest staff very friendly and helpful.

If they want us (as a 3 ball with no buggies) to be quick on the course do not put a 31 (?) handicap player with us
